Rally for Little Bow at Alberta Legislature, today
The families of residents at the Little Bow Care Centre in Carmangay are holding a rally at the Provincial Legislature in Edmonton on Thursday, Aug. 23, beginning at noon. All AUPE members, the families, friends and contacts are invited to attend.
Alberta Health Services abruptly announced the closure of Little Bow, a spcecialized 20-bed facility for seniors with dementia. Families received the news in mid-July and most will be moved out by the end of the summer. Many of the residents are in their mid-90s and frail, physically and emotionally.
Come out and help send a message to the government that our seniors deserve respect and dignity.
