Radio station’s Web poll offers opportunity to support full bargaining rights

Posted June 27, 2007 in Union Updates and tagged with change the law

EDMONTONAUPE members have an opportunity today to support their union’s call for full bargaining rights for all public employees by voting in an Edmonton radio station’s on-line news poll.

Radio station CHED is running a poll that asks: “Should health care workers have the right to strike?”

The poll is found on the front page of CHED’s Website – 630ched.com.

By voting yes, AUPE members support full bargaining rights for all public employees, a key position in the union’s current Change-the-Law Campaign.

The Change-the-Law campaign calls for five key changes to Alberta’s regressive and unfair labour laws. One of those changes is full collective bargaining rights for all public employees, including the legal right to strike combined with fair essential services legislation.
