Province posts increases in subsistence and travel rates for direct government employees
EDMONTON – The rates for travel and subsistence payments to direct government employees in AUPE Locals 001 to 012 will increase on May 1, 2007.
Under the new schedule of subsistence, travel and related rates received this week by AUPE from the Alberta Personnel Administration Office (PAO), even saddle horse users employed by the government will see an increase in the rate they receive while doing employer business.
Among the increase in the new schedule are:
- Equipped saddle horse rates to $14.80 per half day from $14.40 per half day.
- Business kilometre rate for automobile use to 44 cents per kilometer from 43 cents per kilometre.
- Adverse driving conditions allowance to $7.50 per day from $7.30 per day.
- Breakfast allowance to $8.80 from $8.50.
- Lunch allowance to $11.10 from $10.75.
- Dinner allowance to $19.85 from $19.20.
- Overtime meal allowance to $9.90 from $9.60.
- Personal per diem in Canada to $7.05 from $6.80.
- Accommodation allowance to $19.30 per night from $18.65 per night.
- Taxi fares, intra-city transportation and parking, without receipts, to $11.20 from $10.90.
The new schedule also includes increases in relocation per diems, expenses and allowances, plus increases in work camp meal and accommodation allowances.
