AT RED DEER LODGE
The meeting was called to order on the 11th of August at 7:00 p.m. and on the 12th of August at 8:00 a.m. with Sandy Kyle in the Chair.

ADOPTION OF AGENDA

Delegate Bags:
It was decided that the committee will not put anything in the delegate bag but we will have a table and the Our Water for Sale brochures available.
Motion # 3 has been rescinded (May 30th 2011)
Motion # 4 after IT consultation committee will take another look to make a Resolution (May 30th 2011)
Committee will consult with AUPE IT re: possibility of member “choice” on how they receive mail/information.
NEW BUSINESS
Convention 2011
Discussion
The Committee will have a table set up to for give-away and for questions and answers from the delegates
Who will be working/when how the schedule will work and who will be going to Convention
Tri-Fold with pictures and also looking at -Seeds Paper Globe
Three Plants to decorate table and give away
Environmental Q&A cards
Check with the city of Edmonton for free items that promotes environment awareness
Contact Environmental friendly pure life De-Greaser to get samples (Will have MDSD sheets available.)
- Found new website for environmental info: www.earthman.tv – hope to have a video play @ Convention when committee does their report to delegates
New Business
- plans for earth day 2012
- River Valley cleanup
- Drayton Valley Cleanup up will plan in September and ask for volunteer Committee will challenge Locals at Convention
- To contact Environment Minister, Rob Renner to do a presentation to the Environment Committee.
Convention Resolution:
Whereas AUPE is known as a forward thinking Union, Whereas AUPE is known for its Community involvements,
Therefore be it resolved that AUPE donate $5000.00 annually to a current Environment initiative selected by the Environment Committee.
Rationale: The Environmental Committee will monitor current environmental issues that impact AUPE its members and the public to determine the direction of the committee.
MEETING DATE
The next Environmental Committee meeting will be held on September 30th 2011, commencing at 9:00 p.m. at AUPE HQ in Red Deer Room.
