Local 047/022 Bargaining Committee making progress on non-monetary items for Venta Care Centre employees
EDMONTON – The Bargaining Committee for more than 85 long-term auxiliary care nurses employed at Venta Care Centre in Edmonton is making progress on resolving all non-monetary issues in its latest round of negotiations.
The Local 047/022 bargaining committee and employer initially exchanged proposals on June 27, and met again July 7, July 19 and Aug. 25 in an attempt to resolve outstanding non-monetary issues.
“We’ve seen decent progress with bargaining considering we’ve only formally being at it for three days,” said Staff Negotiator Terry Agoto.
“We’re optimistic that momentum carries over to the monetary bargaining component.”
To date, Bargaining Committee members have signed off a total of 19 non-monetary articles.
On Aug. 25, the two sides tabled their respective monetary packages with forthcoming bargaining dates scheduled for Sept. 12-13 at Venta Care Centre.
