GSS transitional agreement finalized
EDMONTON – The final version of the transitional/receiving agreement covering all General Support Service employees of the former Aspen, Calgary, Capital, David Thompson, East Central and Peace Country health regions and the former Alberta Cancer Board is now available for download.
Members of AUPE Locals 054, 056, 057 and 095 – a total of more than 18,000 AHS employees – are currently covered by the transitional agreement, which can be downloaded at the link below.
Following the May 15, 2008, merger of Alberta’s health regions into the single authority of Alberta Health Services, the Alberta Labour Relations Board set out four province-wide bargaining units representing direct nursing care or instruction; paramedical professional or technical services; auxiliary nursing care; and general support services.
Before the merger, AUPE represented the ANC employees in all nine health regions and GSS employees in the six health regions affected by the new transitional agreement.
GSS employees of the former Chinook, Palliser, and Northern Lights health regions, as well as current AUPE members currently employed by the former AADAC, continued to be covered by other agreements for the time being.
