Free tickets to film and book launch
Ever wonder how a province as rich in natural resources as ours can have so much financial trouble? Author Kevin Taft and documentary producer Tom Radford track where Alberta’s wealth is going in a new book and video, both entitled Follow The Money.
Taft, former leader of the Alberta Liberal Party, and Radford uncover who is really benefiting from the Alberta government’s policies of low taxes and royalties for the wealthy and international corporations.
The film and book will be launched on Jan. 18 at Metro Cinema’s Garneau Theatre, 8712 – 109 Street NW in Edmonton. Following a screening of the short documentary, there will be a panel discussion entitled “A Better Way Forward,” featuring Taft, speakers from Public Interest Alberta, Friends of Medicare and other labour and progressive groups. A reception with a cash bar will follow.
Tickets, available at the door or in advance by calling (780) 420-0471, are $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors.
