Environment Committee urges participation in World Water Day events this week
Tomorrow is World Water Day, and AUPE’s Environment Committee, as one of the participating organizations in the Our Water Is Not For Sale campaign, is urging AUPE members to participate in a variety of events surrounding the day.
Events are taking place throughout Alberta, but the committee is specifically involved with Edmonton Water Week. A week of events starting today, Edmonton Water Week features film screenings, panel discussions, poetry readings, and information on both global and local issues surrounding water. World Water Day was declared at the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro and is observed each year on March 22.
