Committee on Political Action urges government to improve education funding
EDMONTON – AUPE Vice President Glen Scott called on the provincial government to restore funding cut from this year’s education budget in order to put Albertans back to work.
AUPE President comments on the passing of federal Opposition Leader Jack Layton
EDMONTON – AUPE President Guy Smith issued the following statement this morning in reaction to the death of the Hon. Jack Layton, NDP Leader of the Official Opposition:
“The sad news this morning of Jack Layton’s death comes as a shock. My deep condolences go out to Jack’s family and his many supporters across the country. We have lost an admirable political leader this morning.

AUPE celebrates Seniors Week
As we celebrate Seniors Week June 6-12, AUPE wants to acknowledge continuing care workers, who work hard to improve the quality of life for thousands of Alberta’s elderly.
COPA donates dozens of shoes
AUPE’s Committee on Political Action donated dozens of lightly used shoes to the Bissell Centre in Edmonton June 3. The Bissell Centre provides holistic support to individuals and families with various needs.
