Auditor General flags major problems with contracting out
EDMONTON – The Auditor General today announced major safety issues with contracted out bridge inspections, and a finding that the government has failed to do any analysis since 1997 of whether contracting out was cost effective.

Anti-Privatization Conference begins
AUPE’s Anti-Privatization Committee opened the 2012 Anti-Privatization conference on June 11. The conference brings together members from around the province to discuss how privatization affects their workplaces, and what can be done to stop it. The theme of this year’s conference is Privatization and Contracting Out: A Global Threat. The conference wraps up today.
