Best Practices
The latest installment in Work Safe Alberta’s series of best practices guidelines for health-care workers is available for AUPE members.
The manual, entitled “Best Practices for the Assesment and Control of Physical Hazards,” is the fourth of five manuals. The 220-page document outlines methods to safely handle everything from falling hazards to noise hazards to driving.
AUPE was one of several organizations that helped develop the manuals.
The previous three manuals are “No Unsafe Lifts,” “Best Practices for Biological Hazards” and “Best Practices for Chemical Hazards.”
A fifth manual, “Best Practices for Psychological Hazards,” is expected to be released later this year.
