AUPE to mark Day of Mourning for workers killed and injured on the job with ceremony tomorrow

EDMONTON – Members of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees will mark the International Day of Mourning for Workers Killed or Injured on the job tomorrow with an 11 a.m. ceremony at the union’s headquarters in Edmonton.

AUPE local executive leaders from across the province will be in Edmonton for a daylong seminar on Hazard Awareness: Elimination and Control.

Media are welcome to attend the Saturday morning ceremony, which will take place on the third floor of AUPE headquarters at 10451 – 170 Street NW in Edmonton.

AUPE President Doug Knight and Vice-President Krista Koroluk, chair of the union’s Occupational Health and Safety Committee, will both be at the ceremony.
