AUPE members urged to join Molson workers’ picket line at 4:30 p.m. today
EDMONTON – AUPE members in the Edmonton area are encouraged to take part this afternoon in a rally of support for striking Molson workers, members of Local 284 of the Canadian Auto Workers Union.
The support rally and barbecue will run from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. today at the CAW’s Molson picket line at 121st Street and Stony Plain Road (10449 – 121 Street) in Edmonton.
Please come out and show your support for these striking CAW members.
More than 100 members of Local 284 have been on strike since May 30, fighting an attempt by Molson Coors Brewing Co. to roll back wages for new hires and include other takeaways in the collective agreement with CAW.
AUPE members are also asked not to purchase Molson Coors products until the CAW’s labour dispute is over.
For the duration of the dispute, Molson beer drinkers can switch to union-made products brewed by Labatt Breweries of Canada.
