AUPE members plan information picket at Calgary Health Region HQ Tuesday
CALGARY – Members of AUPE Locals 095 and 045 employed by the Calgary Health Region plan an afternoon information picket at the region’s head office on Tuesday, Nov. 29, to express their concerns about progress in bargaining and other important issues.
The information picket will take place from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 10101 Southport Road, just west of MacLeod Trail at Southland Drive in Calgary.
AUPE Local 095 represents more than 5,000 general support service employees of the region. Local 045 represents approximately 2,000 auxiliary nursing care employees.
Both locals are in negotiations for new collective agreements. In addition, members of both have concerns about appropriate funding for Alberta’s health care system, and about the danger that health sector jobs may be contracted out.
Members of both locals are urged to come out and make their issues known at the information picket.
