AUPE continues targeted TV advertising during Juno Awards on Mar. 29
EDMONTON – The Alberta Union of Provincial Employees is reminding Albertans of the valuable work its members do by broadcasting another advertisement during the Juno Awards, in advance of the next Provincial budget.
“We’re continuing to inform Albertans of the public services our members provide every day, because when the provincial budget gets released, the work they do often gets lost in all the numbers,” said Knight.
“A personal advertisement like this helps remind Albertans that budget cuts have real consequences, usually lost jobs and reduced public services.”
The advertisement will be aired during the Juno Awards broadcast between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m., Sunday Mar. 29 on CTV stations in Edmonton (CFRN) and Calgary (CFCN). The combined average audience for the two stations is estimated to be over 141,000 Albertans.
AUPE began the television advertising campaign last summer, and decided to continue the campaign in the fall and new year with cost-effective, targeted broadcasts during high-viewership events like the Juno Awards.
“Our members expect us to be effective advocates while using the union’s funds responsibly. We’re measuring up to those expectations with this campaign,” said Knight.
Previous advertising broadcasts in this targeted part of the campaign have occurred during the Academy Awards and the Superbowl.
