PSAC urges Revera Riverbend owners to get back to bargaining with AUPE
EDMONTON — The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) is urging PSP Investments to order subsidiary Revera Inc. back to the bargaining table at Riverbend and offer staff “appropriate compensation” to end the 51-day strike.

Employees of Hardisty Care Centre, who this week went back to work after two months on the picket line, turned out at Revera Riverbend, where workers have been on strike for more than 50 days.
AUPE welcomes health minister’s announcement on food in long-term care facilities
Health Minister Fred Horne’s announcement today that Alberta Health Services will do away with pre-cooked, reheated meals in its small long-term care facilities was welcomed today by the president of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees.

After 30 days on the picket line at Monterey Place in Calgary, AUPE members at the continuing care facility are more solid and dedicated than ever. The close to 90 nursing and support staff at the facility have been locked out by their employer, Triple A Living Communities Inc., since June 26.

Staff at Hardisty Care Centre in Edmonton voted yesterday to ratify a first collective agreement with their employer, Park Place Seniors Living, officially ending a two-month strike at the facility.

EDMONTON – Close to 80 striking Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides have ratified their first collective agreement following a vote held in Edmonton, July 24, officially ending a two-month strike at Hardisty Care Centre.
