Hardisty Care Centre - Bargaining Update
To all the members at Hardisty Care Centre:
On November 22, 2011 your bargaining committee held a series of meetings to update you on the status of negotiations with your employer. At that time we reported that we had been in mediation on November 14 and 15, 2011 and that while your employer had revised their position on a number of outstanding issues, they had not changed their position on the wage offer. You have directed us and told us that your proposal on wages was the only acceptable outcome. We would not be accepting wages that in three years from now would STILL be significantly behind the current industry standards. Your employer requested we conduct a vote on their offer and we said no. We told your employer that if they wanted a vote they could exercise Section 69 of the Labour Relations Code. At the time they said they would not be exercising that option.
