AUPE members employed by Saddle Hills County to vote on mediator’s recommendation
SPIRIT RIVER – Approximately 40 employees of Saddle Hills County in northwest Alberta will have an opportunity to vote on a mediator’s recommended terms of settlement for a three-year collective agreement.

Deadline extended for COPA members seeking funds to run for municipal office
EDMONTON – The date for AUPE members wishing to apply for financial support from the union’s Committee on Political Action to run in the Alberta municipal elections this fall has been extended to Oct. 4, 2010.
Government employees’ contract expires Aug. 31: AUPE ready for bargaining
EDMONTON – The Alberta Union of Provincial Employees plans to commence bargaining a new collective agreement for more than 21,000 Government of Alberta employees just one week after their contract expires on Aug. 31.
Disappearance of Stephanie Stewart still a mystery four years later
EDMONTON – It has been four years since Stephanie Stewart vanished from an Athabasca fire lookout tower near Hinton, Alberta.
AUPE Executive Secretary Treasurer Bill Dechant has reaffirmed the union’s $10,000 contribution to the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
AUPE Local 020 members ratify agreement with ATB Financial
Members of AUPE Local 020 ratified a new agreement with ATB Financial in a mail-in ballot held Aug. 20, 2010, at union headquarters in Edmonton.
The terms reached in the agreement will see improvements to benefits, wages and health and safety provisions for the members of Local 020.
Good Sam Joint Advocacy Committee
AUPE members from Good Samaritan Society work sites in Hinton, Stony Plain, Lethbridge and Edmonton met at AUPE headquarters Aug. 26 to discuss common bargaining issues.
