AUPE President: Spending in health, education and social services is the best way to counter recession
EDMONTON – Alberta Union of Provincial Employees President Doug Knight said today that the Government of Alberta would be unwise to reduce program spending on health, education and social services.
AUPE members took part in the Union Officer Training Course taught in Calgary from June 18 – 19.

The AUPE Local 071/010 bargaining team, representing employees at Norquest College, met at union headquarters June 23 for negotiations on a new collective agreement.

Labour Relations Board releases decision on consolidation of Alberta Health Services bargaining agents
EDMONTON – Lyle Kanee, Vice-Chair of the Alberta Labour Relations Board, this afternoon released a decision regarding the bargaining agents for Alberta Health Services employees. The Alberta Union of Provincial Employees is now reviewing that decision.
EDMONTON – Negotiations have begun for a new collective agreement between members of Local 071/010 of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees and NorQuest College.
