AUPE peace officers to attend memorial ceremonies Sunday
EDMONTON – Representatives of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees’ more than 1,500 peace officers will attend Peace Officers Memorial ceremonies in Ottawa and Edmonton Sunday to honour their colleagues who have fallen in the line of duty.

The Leduc Area Council hosted a Pub Night Sept. 20 at the Leduc Boston Pizza. Close to 30 members attended the social event, including Executive Secretary-Treasurer Bill Dechant and Education Union Representative Greg Maruca.
AUPE seeks mediator to resolve contract dispute with St. Albert’s Youville Home
ST. ALBERT – The Alberta Union of Provincial Employees has requested the assistance of a provincially appointed mediator to resolve an impasse in bargaining with the Youville Home (Grey Nuns) continuing-care facility.

Charity Golf Tournament raises $28,000 for Humane Society
EDMONTON – Participants in AUPE’s Charity Golf Tournament helped to raise $28,000 for the Edmonton Humane Society during the union’s third annual event held Aug. 25 at Edmonton’s River Ridge Golf and Country Club.
Good Samaritan Society
Members of Local 047 and Local 048/020, employed with the Good Samaritan Society, gathered to finalize the consolidation of their new provincial collective agreement Sept. 19, at AUPE Headquarters in Edmonton.
