Alberta Research Council employees ratify one-year extension to collective agreement
EDMONTON – Alberta Union of Provincial Employees members who work for the Alberta Research Council have ratified a one-year collective agreement under which all pay grids will increase by 3.5 per cent.
This will result in a pay increase of the same amount for most employees, said Union Representative Malcolm McNaughton. In addition, all employees will receive a 1.85-per-cent corporate bonus.
Ballots from AUPE Local 060 members who work at ARC facilities in Edmonton, Calgary, Devon and Vegreville were counted at union headquarters in Edmonton Monday afternoon.
AUPE and ARC agreed in negotiations to extend all terms in the current collective agreement for one year and negotiate this year’s contract as a wage-reopener only, McNaughton said.
AUPE represents approximately 260 ARC employees.
