AGLC members ratify mediator's recommendations
EDMONTON – After almost a year of tough negotiations, close to 650 AUPE members, who are employees of the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC), ratified a mediator’s recommended terms of settlement in a vote held at union headquarters Dec. 16, in Edmonton.
“Since February, we have been involved in a difficult round of bargaining with the employer,” said AUPE Negotiator Dale Perry. “We’re happy to see an agreement has been reached that satisfies both parties.”
The agreement echoes the deal reached in May 2011 for general services members working for the government of Alberta, however, with additional improvements in benefits for part time AGLC employees.
The AGLC is the government agency responsible for administering the Gaming and Liquor Act, regulations and related policy.
