EDMONTON – Guy Smith, President of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees responded today to errors and misleading statements in the recent report on public service salaries released by the Calgary School of Public Policy.

AUPE President Guy Smith attended the Jan. 13 retirement party for Clifford Skidmore, who retired from Alberta Transportation after starting work with the Alberta government in 1961. AUPE is proud to have members of Skidmore’s dedication to public service in its ranks.

On Tuesday two judges spoke out publicly about their concerns over public safety because there aren’t enough sheriffs to be present in all courtrooms. AUPE has been urging the government for months to improve staffing levels in courts all around the province.
