Help Keep Michener Open: petition drive this Sunday
AUPE’s Anti-Privatization committee will be in Red Deer this Sunday, June 23, to help collect signatures for the Keep Michener Open petition, and would like to invite members and supporters to join them.
Opposition MLAs support Keep Michener Open
Members of the Opposition from all three parties joined volunteers for Keep Michener Open to go door knocking in Red Deer, collecting more signatures on the petition to keep the facility open. The MLAs were: David Eggen, NDP MLA for Edmonton-Calder; Darshan Kang, Liberal MLA for Calgary- McCall; and Rod Fox, Wildrose MLA for Lacombe-Ponoka. The campaign hopes to have 30,000 signatures before the end of the summer. Over 15,000 signatures have currently been collected.

Rally against PDD cuts, Friday
AUPE members are encouraged to participate in a rally against government cuts to Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) at the Alberta legislature, Friday June 14 at noon.
