Pickets walk the line for fair deal in five communities
CALGARY — AUPE President Dan MacLennan joined information picketers
on the line in Calgary Dec. 3 as direct employees of the provincial
government showed their support for their bargaining committee in the
current round of wage-reopener negotiations.
About 350 government employees braved flying snow and cold temperatures
in Calgary to take part in the spirited information picket. Picketers
also walked the line Dec. 3 in Grande Prairie, Peace River, Slave Lake
and High Prairie.
More information pickets are planned Thursday, Dec. 4, in Edmonton,
Red Deer, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and St. Paul.
