Approximately 20 AUPE members heard from representatives of all political parties, an election official, municipal politicians and union President Dan MacLennan at a full-day Pre-Election Seminar in Calgary on April 23.

Participants in the Calgary seminar heard from Calgary Returning Officer Barb Clifford, Liberal Opposition Leader Kevin Taft, Conservative MLA Richard Magnus, New Democrat campaign organizer Chantelle Hughes, and Calgary Alderman Joe Ceci, as well as Westman, Heistad and AUPE Communications Director David Climenhaga.

The seminars were organized as part of AUPE’s ongoing campaign to encourage union members run for public office at all levels of government in Alberta.
