Despite inclement weather and icy roads, more than 260 AUPE members from Central Alberta met in Red Deer April 14 for a joint annual general meeting of locals and chapters.

AUPE president Dan MacLennan addressed the annual event, discussing the recent criticism by the International labour Organization of Alberta labour law, upcoming AUPE bargaining, AUPE’s recent growth and other topics.

MacLennan also presented long-service pins to members who have been part of AUPE for more than 30 years.
The event took place this year at Harvest Centre Building on the Westerner Park Grounds on the central Alberta city’s south side.
