AUPE President Dan MacLennan and Vice-President Ron Whan were at the Legislature March 24 for the reading of the 2004 budget speech by Finance Minister Pat Nelson.

The two senior AUPE officials fielded journalists’ questions about the budget and met various provincial politicians, as well as other union leaders, such as Alberta teachers Association President Frank Bruseker.

Whan and MacLennan are also shown with Human Resources and Employment Minister Clint Dunford.
Whan, who is Chair of AUPE’s Committee on Political Action and Anti-Privatization Committee, is serving as
acting Chair of the union’s Occupational health and Safety Committee.

Dunford is scheduled to speak to a conference organized by the OH&S Committee in Edmonton on June 11.
