AUPE Executive Committee candidates’ Direct Impact submissions due today

EDMONTON – Candidates for executive offices in AUPE are reminded that today is the deadline for them to submit short statements for publication in the pre-Convention issue of Direct Impact.

AUPE allows candidates for the offices of president, executive secretary-treasurer or vice-president the opportunity to have a statement not exceeding 500 words published in the fall edition of Direct Impact. The newspaper is distributed to all AUPE members.

Candidates should also include a photograph of themselves with their submissions.

In order to be entitled to have a submission published in the quarterly AUPE newspaper, Executive Committee candidates must have declared their intention to run more than 45 days prior to Convention – that is, Sept. 8, today’s date.

This year’s AUPE Convention will be held Oct. 23, 24 and 25 in Edmonton.

At this time, submissions for Impact should be made only by fax or e-mail. In each case, they should be marked to the attention of David Climenhaga, AUPE’s communications director.

E-mail submissions may be sent directly to Climenhaga at d.climenhaga@aupe.org.

Faxed submissions should be sent to 780-930-3392.
