AUPE improves service again with opening of Edmonton City Centre
Office
EDMONTON — AUPE’s Edmonton City Centre Office has now opened
in First Edmonton Place.
AUPE’s Edmonton Southside Office opened earlier this month in
College Plaza near the University of Alberta Hospital.
The City Centre Office at Suite 520, 10665 Jasper Ave. is now staffed
by four AUPE Membership Services Officers and a secretary. A fifth MSO
will join the staff of the office in June.
“As is the case with our new Southside office, the objective of
opening this facility is to improve the service we provide to the large
number of our members who work in the area,” said AUPE President
Dan MacLennan.
“We believe that AUPE already provides better service to its members
than any other union in Alberta,” MacLennan said. “But we
will always strive to find cost-effective ways to improve our service,
as we have done with these two new satellite offices in Edmonton.”
Both Edmonton satellite offices are part of a continuing strategy by
AUPE to raise the level of worksite activities for members, said Labour
Relations Manager Ron Hodgins.
“This will enable us to achieve that goal for the large numbers
of direct government employees who work in and near the government centre
and the health sector employees who work near the downtown area,”
Hodgins said.
Staff at the City Centre Office may be reached at the following numbers:
- Shelley Murray, Secretary — 414-7960 (main office phone)
- Brett Donaldson, MSO — 414-7962 (direct)
- Lynn Gough, MSO — 414-7966 (direct)
- Maria Marrazzo, MSO — 414-7961 (direct)
- Pat Newel, MSO — 414-7966 (direct)
MSO Carol Ann Dean will join the staff of the downtown office in June.
