AUPE radio spots promote safety

EDMONTON — AUPE-sponsored radio advertisements will start running Monday throughout Alberta reminding drivers and kids playing outdoors to be safety conscious during the summer months.

The 30-second radio advertisements, remind kids who are free at last from school to remember the traffic safety rules they have learned over the winter months at home and school.

And they ask drivers to keep a cautious eye out for children as they play outside at unexpected times.
“Drivers need to slow down and kids need to take care so that we can all enjoy a safe and happy summer season,” observed AUPE President Dan MacLennan.

The radio spots will run on Standard Radio Inc. stations in Athabasca, Blairmore, Brooks, Cold Lake, Edson-Hinton-Jasper, High Prairie, Slave Lake, St. Paul, Stettler, Wainwright, Westlock and Wetaskiwin.

In addition, the ads will be heard throughout northern and southern Alberta on 790 CFCW and the Team in Edmonton and Q91 and CKMX in Calgary.
