EDMONTON – The deadline for applications to the AUPE Labour Education School, March 16 to 20 in Jasper, has been extended to Dec. 20.

Application forms may be obtained by AUPE members from their local and chapter executive members, health and safety committee members, worksite contacts and standing committee members.

The spring training program, which takes place at the Jasper Park Lodge, will offer a selection of courses aimed at enhancing the skills required by union stewards.

There will be two advanced steward classes, in addition to courses in leadership, bargaining, health and safety and union communication.

Members and AUPE officials should ensure that anyone who meets the criteria for the school apply as soon as possible.
