Reminder: AUPE Vice-Presidential candidates have until August 13
to submit Direct Impact articles
EDMONTON — Candidates for Vice-President of AUPE are reminded
that they have until Friday, Aug. 13, to submit short statements for
publication in the pre-Convention issue of Direct Impact.
There will be an election for a single Vice-Presidential position during
the 2004 Convention, Oct. 13, 14, 15 and 16 in Edmonton.
AUPE allows Vice-Presidential candidates the opportunity to have a statement
not exceeding 500 words published in the fall edition of Direct Impact,
which is distributed to AUPE members.
In order to be entitled to have a submission published in the quarterly
AUPE newspaper, candidates must have declared their intention to run
more than 45 days prior to the 28th Annual Convention — which
this year fell on July 30, 2004.
An additional two weeks were provided to give candidates an opportunity
to prepare their submissions.
