AUPE Vice-Presidential candidates have until Aug. 13 to submit Direct Impact articles

EDMONTON — Candidates for Vice-President of AUPE have until Friday, Aug. 13, to submit short statements for publication in the pre-Convention issue of Direct Impact.

There will be an election for a single Vice-Presidential position during the 2004 Convention, Oct. 13, 14, 15 and 16 in Edmonton.

AUPE allows Vice-Presidential candidates the opportunity to have a statement not exceeding 500 words published in the fall edition of Direct Impact, which is distributed to AUPE members.

In order to be entitled to have a submission published in the quarterly AUPE newspaper, candidates must have declared their intention to run more than 45 days prior to the 28th Annual Convention. This year, that deadline falls on July 30, 2004

An additional two weeks has been provided this year to give Vice-Presidential candidates an opportunity to prepare their submissions.
