Member Update: Wednesday, January 5, 2005 AUPE members offered special rate at Edmonton seminarEDMONTON — AUPE members are being offered a special rate on a personal and professional development seminar Feb. 18 in Edmonton. The AUPE member rate for the seminar — The Power Within — is $189 plus GST. General admission for non-members is $329. The seminar aims to develop leadership, communication, team-building, networking and interpersonal skills while reducing stress and increasing productivity. Organizers of the seminar — which will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 18 at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton — say the event will focus on such topic areas as leadership and communication skills, career and business, personal and life success, and health and wellness. Speakers at the Edmonton seminar include Survivor TV series producer Mark Burnett, corporate deal-maker Herb Cohen and performer and humorist Loretta LaRoche.
