Capital Health Region GSS mediator’s report delayed

EDMONTON — The expected mediator’s report expected in late January recommending a settlement between AUPE and the Capital Health Region has been delayed until Thursday, Feb. 10.

AUPE was informed on the morning Feb. 3 by provincially appointed mediator Mike Necula that the report would be delayed, Staff Negotiator Greg Maruca said today.

AUPE and the Capital Health Region are negotiating a region-wide collective agreement for all of the region’s approximately 5,000 General Support Service employees.

Maruca said a meeting of the Local 054 Capital Health Region GSS Council has been scheduled for Saturday, Feb., 12, in Edmonton to make a recommendation to members on whether to vote to accept or reject the mediator’s recommendation.
