Bargaining Update: Sept. 21, 2004
AUPE St. Joseph’s and
Capital Care bargaining team signs off numerous articles
EDMONTON — The AUPE bargaining team representing Auxiliary
Nursing Care employees of the Capital Care Group and Licensed Practical
Nurses only at St. Joseph’s Auxiliary Hospital has met with
employer representatives for seven days and signed all non-monetary
articles in the current round of negotiations.
The committee is now working on the monetary issues necessary to
complete a fair collective agreement between AUPE Local 049 and
the Capital Care Group and between AUPE Local 047/015 and St. Joseph’s
Auxiliary Hospital.
A full monetary package has not yet been presented to the employers.
The two groups negotiate identical collective agreements. The following
articles were signed off during the meetings that took place on
June 30. Aug. 12, 13, 16 and 17, and Sept. 15 and 16:

The negotiation process began in May 2004 when the Bargaining Committee’s
members prepared and circulated surveys asking for members’
input for the upcoming round of negotiations.
Committee members then met with other AUPE long-term care groups
from around the province to develop proposals for bargaining.
Additional bargaining dates have been scheduled for Oct. 5 and 6,
2004. AUPE expects to table complete monetary proposals at that
time. |
