Social workers May Day rallies to take place today at noon
EDMONTON Alberta social workers represented by the Alberta Union
of Provincial Employees will participate in a series of rallies in their
communities today.
AUPE members aim to show that they stand for just treatment of people
who need societys help as well as dignity and respect for the social
workers who deliver that help.
AUPE represents social workers, child care counselors, psychologists and
others in the field.
Participants in the rallies will be showing support for the rights of
social workers and their clients, celebrating their solidarity and calling
for fair funding for social programs.
A list of todays workplace rallies is included below. Each will
take place at noon.
