AUPE commences E-Newsletter service

EDMONTON – The Alberta Union of Provincial Employees has introduced an e-Newsletter service to union members with access to e-mail.

"The e-mail newsletter service is part of AUPE’s continuing effort to improve communications and services for our members and the media," said AUPE President Dan MacLennan.

AUPE members interested in subscribing to the e-Newsletter service can click on the "Register for E-Newsletter" link at the top of the AUPE Internet Home Page – aupe.org.

Members who go to that link will be able to send a blank e-mail to AUPE, which will automatically register them as a recipient of the weekly e-Newsletter.

Each week they will receive by e-mail a list of news releases, member updates and other important union documents published in the previous week, with an active direct link to each document on the AUPE Web site, said AUPE Communications Director David Climenhaga.

In addition, he said, subscribers to the service may receive some AUPE publications – such as Steward Notes and Direct Impact – in PDF format as soon as they are published.

Members who change their minds about the service can simply click on the "unsubscribe" link included with each e-mail and their address will immediately be deleted from the subscriber list, he added.

"AUPE is committed to using the Internet effectively to communicate quickly with our members," Climenhaga said. "However, we will continue to use traditional printed newsletters and bulletins to ensure that our message gets out efficiently to members who don’t use the Internet."
