AUPE members at Brazeau Seniors Foundation ratify new agreement
DRAYTON VALLEY Members of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees
who work for the Brazeau Seniors Foundation seniors lodge have ratified
a two-year collective agreement that give them pay increases of five per
cent in the first year and four per cent in the second.
Negotiators for the 35 employees of the seniors facility in Drayton
Valley, members of AUPE Local 047/001, reached a tentative agreement on
April 17.
"This deal shows again that health care workers in small facilities
continue to make gains because of their membership in AUPE," said
union President Dan MacLennan.
Wayne Trimble, the AUPE Union Representative who negotiated the collective
agreement, said other improvements in the contract include:
" Health care premiums for part-time employees will now be paid 100
per cent by the employer.
" Maintenance workers will receive a vehicle allowance of $360 per month.
" A transportation allowance of 40 cents per kilometre.
