Member Appreciation BBQ at U of C
More than 1,000 participants attended the Alberta Union of Provincial Employee’s fourth annual Member Appreciation Barbecue Wednesday on the University of Calgary campus. The barbecue, which this year also marked AUPE’s 30th anniversary as a union, was organized by members of Local 052, which represents more than 2,800 support employees of the university. A terrific day was enjoyed by all in attendance, despite threatening weather, which forced organizers to move the celebrations inside. AUPE President Dan MacLennan attended the barbecue, as did the union’s Vice-Presidents.
