Iris Evans meets with AUPE
Front-line AUPE health care members had a chance to ask questions and express their concerns with the government’s “Third Way” proposals March 23, when Health Minister Iris Evans made a short visit to union headquarters. AUPE President Dan MacLennan extended the invitation to Evans yesterday at the Alberta Legislature, where he was on hand to hear the government’s 2006 Budget Speech. With limited information being released regarding the Third Way, AUPE members remain skeptical that the changes will amount to anything more than privatization of Canada’s current public system.
