Close shave for cancer
Fifteen-year-old Bruce Hagen, a straight-A student at Calgary’s Don Bosco Catholic School, started growing his hair in August 2004 on a dare from his classmates. On June 29, he let it all go at his school’s year-end assembly to support cancer research. Bruce, son of Local 003/002 Chapter Chair John Hagen, brought in a $250 donation from the local for his efforts. The cheque was presented by Local 003 Secretary Treasurer Ed Bouma. In all, students at the school raised $2,100 for the cause.
