CBC Unplugged Rally
Members of AUPE and Edmonton’s labour community attended CBC Unplugged, a rally held at city hall Aug. 31, which featured several of the national broadcaster’s locked-out, on-air personalities. AUPE President Dan MacLennan was onhand, as were several politicans including Alberta New Democratic Party Leader Brian Mason and New Democrat MLA David Eggen and Alberta Liberal MLA Laurie Blakeman. Employees of both the CBC and Telus remain on picket lines, after being locked out by their respective employers during labour disputes.
