This week is Métis Week in Alberta, and AUPE’s Human Rights Committee extends thanks and support to Alberta Métis who continue to strive towards rights and recognition as a distinct nation.
AUPE’s Human Rights Committee is pleased to announce that two important resources are now available online, which will help members and Locals develop and access essential skills training in their communities and workplaces.

AUPE’s Human Rights Committee proudly marched alongside members of the LGBTQ community and allies at Edmonton’s Pride Parade on June 6. This year marked 35 years of the Edmonton Pride Festival and with close to 50,000 in attendance, was the largest Pride Parade in Edmonton’s history.
Members attended the Human Rights Conference at AUPE Headquarters June 4 and 5 to learn about how human rights affects their workplaces and coworkers. Andy Sims (left) attended as the keynote speaker.
