About the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE)
Employee Support and Recovery Assistance (ESRA) Program
The Employee Support and Recovery Assistance program is a benefit available
to all Government of Alberta employees who have been off work for at
least 10 days on general illness leave or Workers Compensation.
This program is voluntary.
ESRA is designed to help direct employees of the Government of Alberta
recover from illness or injury during their general illness period.

Eligible employees who wish to find out immediately how the ESRA program
can help with their health situation may contact a nurse with the
Effective Case Management Group, the group chosen by AUPE and the
government to run the program, at the following numbers:
- 780-413-1624 in Edmonton.
- 403-216-6120 in Calgary.
- 1-800-472-4904 province wide.
Participation in the ESRA program will not affect an employees
eligibility to apply for benefits under the Long Term Disability Income
Continuance Plan.
Accessibility to the ESRA Program can be done from any computer.
