Employee Relations Officer

Please be advised that an Employee Relations Officer position is available with an initial work assignment at the Edmonton Headquarter Office location. This position will report to the Director of Labour Relations and work closely with the Employee Relations Coordinator.

Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities and Job Functions

  • Provides support in the investigation of grievances and /or employee issues and providing recommendations on appropriate action on individual employee performance issues.
  • On an ongoing basis provides input to the development and delivery of a comprehensive employee on-boarding program.
  • Implements the delivery of an off-boarding process and program.
  • Provides assistance and support in the facilitation of succession planning as required.
  • Providing support in professional development and training programs.
  • Staff meeting planning
  • Participate in recruitment for AUPE staff as required.
  • Staff policy review and development including researching assigned topics and providing recommendations for action.
  • Participating in Occupational Health and Safety, WCB and Disability Management.
  • Provide support for Employee Wellness programs
  • Manage benefits program
  • Provide employee relations support to staff as required
  • Provide support for day to day benefit issues
  • Liaising with department team leads to coordinate internal staff communication.
  • Works with managers to keep job descriptions current
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4-5 years working in a related role
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field preferred.
  • Strong communication, consultation, coaching and conflict management skills.
